چکیده

A cohesive zone model is proposed and analyzed for steady-state peeling of a thin rate-independent, elastic-plastic film bonded to an elastic substrate. A traction-separation description of the interface is embedded within continuum characterizations of the film and substrate. The primary parameters characterizing the tractionseparation relation are the work of adhesion and the peak separation stress, termed the interface strength. The objective of the study is the determination of the relationship of the peel force to the work of adhesion of the interface and its strength, with due regard for plastic deformation in the film. An example of an elastic film peeled from an elastic-plastic substrate is also presented.

Studying the effect of roughness on soil-geotextile interaction in direct shear test

Abstract One of the methods of increasing soil resistance against failure is soil reinforcement using geosynthetics. Soil-geosynthetic interactions are of great importance and are affected by friction and adhesion at their interface. Soil gradation, contact surface roughness and geotextile density are among the factors affecting soil-geotextiles interaction this study, to investigate the eff...

Silicone-based adhesives for long-term skin application: cleaning protocols and their effect on peel strength

Adhesives that involve adhesion to the skin have been of great technological importance inmedical or pharmaceutical fields, including recently emergingwearable sensors and electronics. The objective of this workwas to evaluate the performances of silicone-based adhesives with skin, using a peel adhesion test. Specifically, we explored the effect of adhesive cleansing, which is an inevitable dai...

Effect of Cr Thickness on Adhesion Strength of Cu/Cr/Polyimide Flexible Copper Clad Laminate Fabricated by Roll-to-Roll Process

The adhesion strength of a Cu/Cr/polyimide (PI) flexible copper clad laminate (FCCL), which was manufactured by the roll-to-roll process, was evaluated according to the thickness of the Cr seed layer using the 90 peel test. The changes in the morphology, chemical bonding and adhesion properties were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron s...

Adhesion Strength Study of EVA Encapsulants on Glass Substrates

An extensive peel-test study was conducted to investigate the various factors that may affect the adhesion strength of photovoltaic module encapsulants, primarily ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), on glass substrates of various laminates based on a common configuration of glass/encapsulant/backfoil. The results show that "pure" or "absolute" adhesion strength of EVA-to-glass was very difficult to o...
